Vision and Aims

School Vision Statement

As a Church of England school we welcome everyone. We believe that all members of our Christian school community should recognise that a successful and happy environment depends on the universal values of care and concern for one another.  It is our vision that all our pupils should have the opportunity to achieve to their full potential academically and through all the school’s activities. We believe that the spiritual growth of each individual is nurtured within the school community through mutual support and respect and opportunities for times of reflection and celebration.

School Aims and Objectives

We aim to:

  • Ensure that each child has a valuable day every day,
  • Encourage pupils to develop lively, enquiring and creative minds, the confidence to question, and the ability to debate rationally,
  • Ensure pupils acquire knowledge, skills and training relevant to adult life and employment in a rapidly changing world,
  • Support pupils to become self-disciplined and self-motivated through hard work and commitment,
  • Encourage pupils in the development of their own individuality and independence,
  • Ensure that pupils receive challenging, stimulating, worthwhile and enjoyable experiences,
  • Encourage pupils to develop and appreciation of learning as a lifelong and enjoyable process,
  • Help pupils to act on a set of well founded moral values, beliefs and attitudes, to recognise and value a sense of right and wrong,
  • Engender in pupils and understanding of and respect for religious and moral values and appreciation and tolerance of other groups, races, religions, ways of life and points of view,
  • Develop a concern for their environment and understand the society in which they live and work, and the inter-dependence of individuals, groups and nations,
  • Help pupils to develop an awareness and appreciation of human achievements and aspirations, in our own and other societies.
